Hold On, Did I just see a flying monkey?

Yesterday, I felt like Toto and Tara was my Dorothy. The wind was crazazy! I think that it got to be over 60mph. It was scary! Apparently there was flooding and large chunks of ice flying out of Lake Erie. When Tara got home from Roswell, she kept complaining about the fact that the wind almost blew her over. That would have been really funny to see. The taller they are, the harder they fall....freaking Amazon would have taken quite a tumble. Hehe. When I pointed this out to her, she got that evil look in her eye and threatened to throw me outside. I'm little and I have no internal organs. I would have flown away. But Gnorman, you're made out of metal you say? Well, shut up, that's not the point!

When Tara got home from work last night she kept mumbling about evil pregnant women, psycho nurses, and stupid hospital charts. I'm guessing her 8 hr shift at the hospital wasn't everything that she'd hoped it would be. Serves her right for threatening the life of a precious little gnome like me.

I think we're going out to dinner tonight. I just love Thursdays! They call it "Girl's Night" but they let me tag along. I tell them I'm gay so that they'll have pillow fights and talk about dirty things around me. And people think I'm stupid...psh.

XOXO,
Gnorman G.

Aaron Sorkin will you marry me?

I haven't been feeling that great this weekend so I'm spending Saturday night in an over-sized sweatshirt watching old episodes of The West Wing with Barrett. I swear Andrew Sorkin is a genius. It doesn't matter how many times I watch an episode, I still get chills. I think tonight just confirmed what a big loser/dork I really am. I'll be single forever, damn.
My life is pretty lame right now. I know that I sound like a broken record but all that I really do is study and work. Sometimes I feel like I'm Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. That movie is horrible but it makes a great conversation topic. I'm pretty sure everyone has felt like Bill Murray at some point in his/her life.
I'm having one of those moments where I really miss my friends from back home. I've kept up a pretty constant conversation with Amy the past few days and that really makes me want to be in K-town. She makes me laugh. I need more people like that in my life. I've started a countdown for the NYC trip with Julie. I don't know what we'll do but I really don't care. I want to see The Ho and I want to get out of Buffalo for a little while. This city seems like it's closing in on me. Plus, the people are ugly... I need some beauty in my life.
This past week I've been a major bitch. Everything pissed me off. I don't know why but I really wanted to run around screaming and hitting things. Odd, I know. I think it had to do with the stress of starting a new semester. I always get like this when classes start up again. I hate it for the first two weeks and then I mellow out. I've tried to avoid as many people as possible this weekend in hopes of becoming a somewhat normal human being again. Let me know how I'm doing.
Ok, time to go be a bum and veg out in front of the TV.

DaDumDaDum

I've spent the past few days holed up in my apartment watching movies and drinking coffee. I did get out for a few hours to go workout but that's about it. I'm trying to save gas plus it's too cold to go anywhere. i really hate putting on 5 layers. Mom did buy me a new coat that I absolutely love. It's all warm and has a fake fur collar. Being warm is probably one of my favorite things right now. The windows in our apartment suck so that anytime the wind blows they start to rattle and cold air comes in. I can't wait until our lease is up.

My first week of class was ok. This semester is going to be rough but I enjoy my classes so I'll be fine. I'm going to have to learn not to procrastinate so that kind of sucks, but oh well. No more TV for me.

I'm going to be going to New York City in a few weeks. Julie and I are meeting up there and we're going to stay with her brother and his wife. I can't wait!!! I've never really been to NYC and I'm so glad that I'll be with Julie when I go. Julie is my favorite travel buddy. We're also talking about going to Scotland this summer. I really hope that we can do it because I really want to get out of the country for a little while. So if anyone wants to know what I want for my birthday, I want money for my plane ticket to Scotland :)

A French Press and a New Roommate

I don't even know why I'm mentioning my french press. Maybe because I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee from the before mention french press? Probably. I really am a loser if I actually take time out of my life to think or even write about this. I need to get in school so all I have to think about is nerdy science and I won't ramble on about ways to make coffee. Classes start on Monday so only one day to go. Here are my classes for next semester...be jealous
  • cancer epidemiology
  • adv. topics in immunology
  • oncology for scientists
  • gene expression
  • seminar

and then I have to work on my research and study for the MCAT. Yeah, it's going to be a little busy but hopefully I'll survive.

As most of you know, Amanda decided to ditch us and run off to San Diego to be a transvestite tour guide. I'm ok with that, not going to judge her for her..."needs." No, she's not a transvestite tour guide but she did leave to go to grad school. Not too happy about that one.

We did manage to find a new roommate (Thank you craigslist) and he moved in this weekend. "He" did you say? Yes, he. His name is Barrett. He's our age and I really don't understand what he does but he does have a job and isn't that all that really matters? He kind of reminds me of this guy from Furman and it's a little creepy. I almost called him Robert yesterday.

Hmmm...my coffee is cold
