This movie is perfection. I just love a not-so-happy ending. Why don't they make them like this anymore?

So I'm Pathetic Because...
I think that I've reached an all new low. My life is so boring and uneventful right now that I spent over an hour in Wegmans trying to decide if I should actually spend the extra money to buy organic produce vs. the other kind. yeah, I opted out of the organic. I'm too cheap and I figure that something else will give me cancer besides the pesticides used on my apples. I guess I'm not really white after all.
Mr. Wendell and I were on the run yesterday and we decided to spend some quality
time in Petsmart and then Starbucks. The landlord was inspecting the apartment so I made sure my precious little angel was M.I.A. for a few hours.I've decided that the Elmwood s'bucks is where all of the Buffalo creeps hang out (ok, not all of them but a large part). Mr. W was sitting there chewing on his brand new bone (yeah, I bribe him to keep him from barking in public) and this little a-hole almost ran over him with his skateboard. Seriously, who still rides a skate board?
I should probably clarify this a little more... The stupid skateboard freak was also sitting outside brushing his hair with a fork. Yes, I said brushing his hair with a fork. I'm thinking that he really liked The Little Mermaid when he was little or he spends too much money on tight jeans and t-shirts from Urban Outfitters and can't afford a normal hairbrush. Poor boy, it takes so much money to look that unwashed and trendy. Ok, so back to why I'm evening mentiong this... While I was sitting with Mr. W outside of s'bucks, I was also doing a little light reading. Right now I'm reading the Feminine Mystique. I think it's one of those books that should be read before you die. You know, kind of like the Harry Potter series (haha). Anyway, I kept getting looks from the people who passed by. I know they were wondering if I was a lesbian or just a man-hater. You can tell what they were thinking by the look in their beady eyes. I was almost tempted to scream "Yes, I like women" and throw the book at them as they walked by. It would've been fun. Now, if only I were a lesbian...
Julie is going to be here tomorrow afternoon. yeah, I'm super excited! I think we're going to Toronto on Sunday. Well, hopefully we're going to Toronto. I've never been there and it's less than 2 hours away....perfect. I've also got to take Julie on a walk around this city. I don't think people really grasp how weird the Buffalo people truly are until they see it for themselves.
Ok, off to lab...

A Girl and Her Dog
Mr. Wendell and I are spending some quality time at home. We're listening to some opera and reading each other our favorite articles from The New York Times. He likes the ones on art and fashion while I like the ones on science and politics. Poor Gnorman is sulking over in the corner because I won't give him the crossword. He's such a weird little Gnome but his vocabulary is amazing. He should be a writer.
Today I took Mr. Wendell on his first trip the the farmer's market. Of course, he tried to play with every dog that walked by. I noticed that he was really attached to the dogs that were at least 5 times his size. He's a cocky little thing. People kept stopping and talking to me about Scotties. It's starting to get annoying. Yes, he's adorable. Yes, he's feisty. Yes, he has such a great attitude. Blah, blah, blah...he's a pain in the butt, that's what he is. Ok, yes I adore him and I talk to him like he's an actual human being. Sometimes I swear that he talks back. Overall, I'm just really glad that I got him. He's kept me sane in this hell-hole that I call Buffalo.

I took the MCAT on Thursday. I'm not really that sure how I did. It was hard and I'm not exactly expecting that great of a score but at least it's over for now. I can finally have somewhat of a summer break. I still have to work on my research and I have the job in the lab and the job in the hospital but at least I don't have to spend my free time studying crap that I learned 3 years ago. Yes, I still hate physics.
For those of you who don't know, I'm working in a mouse lab now. Yeah, I know you're creeped out by that. I really enjoy it. I know that sounds weird. Hopefully, they'll let me design my own experiments soon. I know, I know I just reached all new level of DORK with that comment but you love me in spite of that.
Julie is coming to visit next weekend and I'm really excited about that. I think that we might head up to Toronto for a day just to see what that's like. I've never been there and neither has Julie. I think that it's only an hour and a half drive so that's not too bad. I really need to get out of Buffalo. I'm afraid that I'm going to turn into one of "them" if I stay around here too long. I'm starting to feel like this city is closing in on me.
I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to be single for the rest of my time in the Blow Hole (that's my new pet name for Buffalo). The men here...eck. Ok, let's be honest, I'm really picky where men are concerned and my standards are a little too high for most of the men in Buffalo. Call me a snob, go ahead. It's true, but I'm not going to compromise myself just so I can say that I have a boyfriend. I'd rather be single. Plus I have Wendell. He's better than any Buffalo man...and he probably smells better.
