I finally did it....I tried a Buffalo wing. I'd been promising myself that I would not leave Buffalo without at least eating one. Mom and Fig are in town and they wanted to eat at THE ORIGINAL Buffalo wing place so this was the perfect opportunity for my little experiment. While they were placing their order, I was mentally psyching myself up to eat the wing of the Buffalo. It wasn't going to be bad. I probably still liked the taste of chicken. At least the sauce would be good. They do smell good... The list goes on. I was trying to tell myself anything that would take my mind off the fact that I was about to eat chicken.
As the waitress dumped the platter of wings on the table, I was almost excited. I mean, come on, I was in the home of the Buffalo wing and I was about to taste a part of history. I grabbed my little wing, I duked it in blue cheese dressing, and I took a big ole bite!!
To say that I almost puked in the middle of the table, would be an understatment. I honestly did not think that I would have any sort of reaction to eating meat but oh was I wrong. The minute that I actually tasted chicken, my stomach decided that it hated me. Mom and Fig just stared as my face changed about 5 different colors and I started to gag. Ever so ladylike, I spit the wad of chicken into a napkin and then gulped down about 3 glasses of water. It was an experience that I will not be repeating. I tried the wing and now I'm done.
I have to say that dipping french fries in the hot sauce and blue cheese was pretty darn good.
