Alone...again

Dear Readers,

She did it again. She left me at home while she and that rat dog went down to Tennessee for Thanksgiving. Yes, I may originally be from Germany but I appreciate this American holiday mainly because it involves large amounts of food and naps...lots of naps. Last week wretched Tara made me a promise that she would not forget me and that she'd even let me sit in the front seat. Hmmm...lies, lies, lies. I'm sure she's sitting down in Knoxville eating pumpkin pie (my personal favorite) and reading the paper while I sit up here watching reruns of The Gilmore Girls and eating rice and wheat thins. Since she got that damn dog, she's forgotten about me. Who's the one who saved her from getting arrested that one time? Me. Who's the one who taught her how to knit? Me. Who was the one who held a cold compress to her head while she was sick last winter? Ok, that wasn't me because the sight of vomit makes me queesy but you get the picture. What has Wendell done for her besides crap on the floor and chew on her shoes??? Exactly.
I'm going to get her back. I might just sell all of her books on ebay...or I could let that weirdo down the street sleep in her bed. Better yet, I'll find some way to make her have to stay in Buffalo another year! Ha! I think she'd rather rip her fingernails out with tweezers than spend any extra time in B-Lo. So what can I do to sabotage her escape plan...hmm...I'll have to think on this one.
Ok off to short-sheet her bed. It's the little things that make me happy.

XOXO
The G.

Deck the Apartment with Cheap Ornaments and Twinkle Lights

Tonight Megan and I decked our apartment out in Christmas cheer. Yes, it's still a week until Thanksgiving. Yes, our neighbors gave us weird looks. And Yes, I made Wendell wear a Santa hat. He wasn't too happy. I've been listening to Christmas music since Saturday (thank you pandora.com) and I'm so ready for Thanksgiving to come and go because then there will be Christmas decorations EVERYWHERE!! Last year I spent Christmas morning baking cookies and waiting to go to work. I really hated it last year. The whole family was in K'ville celebrating and I was alone in Buffalo waiting until 3pm so I could go to work. It was just so sad. It didn't even feel like Christmas. Maybe that's why I'm over-compensating this year. Hell, I would have put the tree up before Halloween but singing Jingle Bells while dressed up like a witch is just a little too weird.

Other than decorating for Christmas, my life has been uneventful. I had a paper due on Wednesday and then and exam today. My life has been consumed by DNA, cancer, and macrophages. Yeah, nerd alert. I'm sorry.

Ok, I'm spent. I don't have any deep thoughts or witty sayings. I'm going to bed.

Lovely.

About to crack...

I actually yelled at a woman today. A complete stranger. An ugly, bitter hag. She ran into me with her shopping cart and didn't even apologize. What is with that?

Leopard Print. Kickboxing.Little Devils.

Why does raw sugar not dissolve? The only reason that I use it is because the word "raw" is on the package but it would ne nice to get a little sweetness when I sip on my tea. Whatev, I'll go back to Splenda. I like yellow.

Ok...I'll stop rambling about sugar. I'm listening to biochemistry lectures and trying not to fall asleep. I really hate this class. (1) it's boring (2) i've had this crap before (3) there are undergrads in there and most of you know how I feel about the undergrads (yeah, I'm a far superior graduate student now). Thankfully I only have a few more weeks left of this semester and then it'll be time to focus on my lovely thesis. Yeah, i've been a major slacker in that area. I've been focusing on classes *gasp* instead of my project. I really need to learn to manage my time better...or find a way to add a few extra hours to the day. It doesn't help that it gets dark at 5pm. Have I mentioned how much I love Buffalo. Not only does this city smell like a rotten chicken wing, it's also dark 14 hours out of the day. Yay for Daylight Savings Time!

I've been on a mission to re-vamp my wardrobe. All of my clothes are too big so now I have the perfect excuse to buy new ones. I kind of went on a shoe shopping spree the last time I was at home (yeah, I lost weight in my feet too....right) and I ended up with some hot pink shoes, some leopard print shoes, and some boots. I have to say that my favorite pair is the leopard print. They're sassy...just like me ;) Now I need clothes to match the shoes. Pshh, who buys shoes to match an outfit? That's just not cool, man.
It's sad that the most exciting thing in my life right now is my growing shoe collection. I have truly reached an all new level of pathetic.

I decided to branch out this weekend and I took a class at the JCC. I decided on kickboxing because I thought it'd be fun to imagine that I was kicking the sh*t out of certain family members. That's right, I'm probably talking about you.
It was a great workout and I have to say that my stress level went way down. I'm also hurting in places that I forgot existed. Pain is a sign of a good workout, right? But what if you can't walk?

Being the slightly demented person that I am, I decided to dress Mr. Wendell up for Halloween. He told me that he really liked his devil costume. See, just look at the pictures of him, he's so happy (there are more posted in my photo album...the link is somewhere below). We had about 10-15 trick-or-treaters at our apartment. Their costumes were lame and their parents looked kind of shady. One parent came up to the door with her little kiddies holding a cigarette in the corner of her mouth screaming at a the kids still on the sidewalk. I didn't know if I wanted to give them candy or run into the apartment and hide anything of value. I miss the suburbs.

Ok, back to studying for the 3098079833045986 exams that I have this week...eh.
